Latest Updates from Our Project:

New Characters are coming!!! :)
over 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 21, 2017 at 06:33:51 AM

We are very near to funding now at 98% and we think it's time to start showing you some of the cool things ahead.

We've given big right from the start of this campaign with a premium game mat, lots of unique minis, game components and let's not forget a fully modular 3D environment packed with room items.

We've left nothing that needs upgrading as a stretch goal - but that doesn't mean we're not going to! With unlocked stretch goals we're going to increase the number of minis to each core pledge (a core pledge is the full boxed game).

So with that in mind here are six minis that are coming. Director Zool of the Galactic Corps and Zed the leader of a criminal gang are already poised as stretch goals. The next four are all traders that can be hired to your crew, swapped out when one of your characters dies, (or leaves because you're just not earning the assets), or field them all together as your third crew on the board.

You can even use them as civilians to add more variety to your game especially if you are mostly a solo player. Each comes with it's own Character card, class card and extra weapon tokens to add to the stash you already have in the Core Space boxed game.

A who's who of heroes and not quite heroes and all free when unlocked!

.

These new characters will be the first of many that can be fielded in Core Space. We plan to give you more traders as well as extra civilians dedicated to that role in the game.

Looking forward to unlocking these guys and adding them to each core pledge :)

Until the next update...

Purge Attack!!!
over 6 years ago – Mon, Nov 20, 2017 at 11:43:41 AM

Just thought we'd do a quick update. There's been some great discussions in the comments section over the past few days and we spoke about Purge numbers and how they affect the game.

The Core Space game has a great balance already with the 9 included which is cool. Some of you guys have a lot of our terrain though and are planning to do some bigger set ups so we spoke about that and how this would affect the number of Purge available.

The great news is we have decided to add an additional x4 Purge Harvesters to each Core Space Game Pledge for Free. If you don't have any of our other terrain sets, then you still get more Purge and after a few campaigns and missions you might want to really test your crew's power... can't ever have too many bad guys! Plus you still have the 2 bonus Galactic Guards and 2 bonus Gang members :oD

FREE STUFF!!!!!!!!!! (cough)
FREE STUFF!!!!!!!!!! (cough)

.

If you've already added a Purge Harvester Add-on please hold onto that, it really helps our funding and we are sure you will want to allocate that to some new crews we have coming soon :o)

Onwards and upwards...

Mission Pack - OUTBREAK!
over 6 years ago – Mon, Nov 20, 2017 at 02:52:02 AM

Here's a great little mission pack that can be used on its own or as part of a campaign. It comes supplied with it's own Mission Log and will add lots of variety to the missions. The Cell Doors, Reactor Chamber, AUTO-Doc and Infestations can be used in so many missions due to their classic sci-fi vibe. Use them as major objectives or just background items to flesh out your tabletop.

OUTBREAK!

OUTBREAK! finds both our trader crews heading to a derelict that has been infested with a mysterious alien disease that attacks the ship directly. The traders have a primary and secondary objective, find out the cause and upload the data and, if possible, find and rescue a stranded scientist. Seems straightforward but the clock's ticking with a high Purge presence...

Fans of Sci-fi II will recognise re-skinned versions of the Detention cells and the Reactor chamber as well as the AUTO-Doc and Infestations.

The mission Pack is a wallet friendly £8 and is now available in the add-ons section. If you like the idea of extra mission options go grab one now :)

Well, that's how it rolled for us and I'll let you play your own version for your results. Did Gak survive? Did anyone get the scientist back to the ship? Did Arianna make it out or is she still standing on that table waiting for the room to clear? ... All in all a classic mission with lots to think about and plenty of variety in how you can achieve both of the objectives and still find time to locate salvage to sell, you've got your own ship that's falling apart around you and oh, a mighty fine need to eat sometime this month! :)

Hope you like our first Mission Pack :)

Until the next update

Teleportation...
over 6 years ago – Sun, Nov 19, 2017 at 05:51:05 AM

So,  a quick recap on our progress, 177 new backers on day two, this is another milestone for us, thank you all so much :o)

Okay, so let's talk Core Space and teleportation. Those that have been poking through the beta rules and read the short story will already know that if any of your characters get left behind they may have the chance to use the emergency teleport.

This is activated from your ship and will attempt to bring your fallen crew back so they can be patched up ready for the next mission. They won't gain any career points as they never finished the mission, but you may have had that character for some time and so this preserves some of the hard work you'd have put in so far. It's not an exact science and can only be done after the mission is complete. You cannot choose to do this while on a mission.... however...

... what if you had an option for this, a teleportation device to get you back to your ship or to get you to the next location for the next mission?

Enter the Particle Transmitter.... introduced in the Sci Fi II Kickstarter this whooping beast can be used as a mission objective and also makes a great centrepiece for your table... if this is where the Purge are spawning from in a mission, you'll want to destroy it fast :)

"We cannot be held responsible for missing limbs while using our transporters... Have a nice trip"
"We cannot be held responsible for missing limbs while using our transporters... Have a nice trip"

.

The Particle Transmitter is the big boy equivalent to the ship teleporters that are terrifying at best. We (almost) guarantee none of your guys will be turned inside out!

"Run Lar's run!"
"Run Lar's run!"

"One more step!!!"
"One more step!!!"

.

The Transmitter looks great in all our terrain and can be used as a signal transmitter, time machine, short range teleporter and all round magic doorway, whatever suits your mission.

It's available right now in the add-ons bit, if you want one just add £4 to your pledge and let's get closer to those FREE stretch goals!

"Reward of 5 UA for each civilian saved in this rescue mission"
"Reward of 5 UA for each civilian saved in this rescue mission"

Of course the Purge may take advantage of their Frequent Porter Miles :)

.

In the add-ons section you may have noticed the massive terrain sets, Frontier, Galactic, Outlands and Gothic. These sets were all designed with Core Space in mind and share the same universe.

All the interactive room items work perfectly in Core Space. For example, the cargo crates are the same size and designed to take all the equipment tokens from Core Space. Most of these sets are also multi-level with lift off sections for access to the rooms and the Frontier and Galactic sets even have mobile elevators.

I'll be doing some cool vids of the other terrain in use with Core Space later in the campaign so stay tuned for some epic adventures :)

Thanks again for the support so far, keep posting the project around the webs, you'll be surprised just how many people discover us from posts made by backers. 30-40% based on our previous campaigns so thanks again :)

See you in the next update...

Great start, we're very happy :)

Good morning / afternoon / evening or good night (depending on location :)

CORE SPACE!!! CORE SPACE!!!! Core Space!! core space! (echo)

.

Thanks to every one one of you guys and girls for giving us a great start. 576 backers in the first night, thats nearly 200 more than we've ever had on any KS campaign. We are used to running terrain Kickstarters with very low funding goals so to be this far into the funding already (640 backers as I write this) is amazing. Keep spreading the word, you're doing great.

Chatting through the comments with you guys everyone seems pumped for the game and the gameplay which is perfect and just what we wanted. A few questions were asked and to save you looking through the endless comments here's a summary. :)

The game can be played Solo, competitive, cooperative and even a combination of all of those through a single mission or campaign.

The game will have a character generator and we plan to have extra character boards. These will have blank titles, etc. so you can name and field your own characters.

We also plan to allow you to field the AI characters in the game as a team too. So if you like the Gangs, such as Zed and his crew (you've not met them all yet) you will be able to play them as your crew for missions and campaigns. Even the Galactic Corps if you like, wait till you meet the Juggernaught :D

Droids? (I think Lucasfilm own that word). Let's say synthetic life forms and robots... are coming. In the main video you see Mac and also in a Let's Play video coming from Beasts of War.

Mac has no particular affiliation, he goes with the flo :)
Mac has no particular affiliation, he goes with the flo :)

.

Jace and Arianna's crews are not the only ones we have, we have more planned and will show you these soon. We would like many crews and crew types to populate this galaxy and also to continue to grow over the next few years... We love our sci-fi :D

Terrain and packing the game away. The game comes in a nice box (think CMON box style) It should all pack down flat back into the box, even the terrain. Minis are in trays and generally it's a nice packing system. Of course, as we fund the box and how bits are packed will change so we need the final mini count (as one example) before we finalise the size and shape.

There was also a question regarding how the minis scale with others. Here's a quick shot of two of ours with some others. There is not a great deal of difference between these, some are 32mm and some are 28mm.

Left to right. Hasslefree 28mm, Warpath 28mm, Core Space, Core Space, Zombicide 32mm, Walking Dead AOW, not sure if they are 32mm or 34mm :)

.

As you can see we use a more realistic style of stance and pose for our minis, looking at the more real world everyman for our trader characters and this was our aim right from the start.

Anyway, thanks again for a fantastic start and let's see how far we can expand the Core Space galaxy :)

Colin & Wayne.
