Core Space Digital Content
over 5 years ago – Tue, Mar 12, 2019 at 01:19:59 AM

Hey everyone

The Core Space launch is just weeks away. The boat is nearly here and our deliveries are booked in.

So, while we spend the next couple of weeks toiling away to get your pledges out the door, we thought you might like something to read...

Public Downloads

To start with, there are some Core Space files that we are making available publicly to help people get into the game. Please feel free to share these with any friends you're planning to rope in! The Downloads page on our website has been updated with the following:

  • Core Space Core Rules - to get a feel for the mechanics before taking the plunge
  • Core Space Reference - this section of the book can be printed to quickly look up abilities and special rules during your games

Following later this week you will find a couple more files added to the page:

  • Trading Post Diagram - to save you searching through a pile of counters, you can use this to plan your purchases in the Trade Phase of a campaign.
  • Blank Mission Files - we'll be uploading all of the images you need to build your own professional-looking mission maps!

We'll put a reminder in our Newsletter this Friday to check out the Downloads page for further updates.

Expansion Content

Since the Kickstarter the various miniatures, character boards, equipment tokens and terrain pieces have been re-organised into exciting expansions for the retail range. To add a little more to these products and increase the replayability of the game, we decided to write loads of new missions too!

All of the important physical pieces were included in the various pledges and add-ons in the Kickstarter, but the mission booklets were not. But never fear! Of course we couldn't let you our loyal backers miss out on the goods. We will be sending out these rules booklets digitally to all backers that bought a Boxed Game or Titan pledge, regardless of which add-ons you picked up. That's a total of 12 extra missions thrown into your pledges!

The files will be sent out via BackerKit shortly. If you have any trouble accessing them, please contact [email protected].

After reading these missions you may decide you want to pick up some of the add-ons that you didn't select in the Kickstarter. Once the dust has cleared next month we will post all of the remaining Kickstarter stock on our website, and we'll put out a Kickstarter update clearly listing what you need to pick up for each set of missions.

Titan Pledges

Don't worry, we didn't forget you guys! We've also finished the Titan Accord, a mammoth mission across two mats using all of the extra minis and terrain in your pledge.

Titan backers will be sent a separate file for the Titan Accord, also through BackerKit.

Battle Systems Newsletter - Win £50!

That's right, it's giveaway time! We've got lots of great stuff to show off in the coming months and we want to make sure that nobody misses out on the latest news. We send out a newsletter every few weeks - you can see our latest one HERE.

If you're not signed up yet, sign up now! Everyone that's subscribed by 5pm GMT on Friday will be entered into a draw to win £50 of credit on our webstore - perfect for picking those add-ons I mentioned above.

You can subscribe using the form HERE.

That's all for now. We'll be back in touch as soon as we start shipping.

Happy reading!

Shipping Update and Chinese New Year
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Feb 21, 2019 at 11:08:18 PM

Hey everyone!

Time to give you an update on shipping progress. I mentioned in the previous update that one container was on the water with the other following shortly after. Since then we've had the Chinese New Year festivities and a couple of weeks of radio silence from our shipping partners, but now we're out the other side we've got some clarity.

Our second container left China as planned, and has an ETA in the UK of the March 13th. It's on the Mette Maersk - you can track it here:

https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/shipid:3369100/zoom:13

You can see that it's just left the port in Malaysia. Its next destination is Sri Lanka on Monday.

We've just found out that for some unknown reason our first container did not make it onto the ship that it was booked on. It was picked up by another ship shortly afterwards, but that ship wasn't coming to the UK so it dropped off the container in Malaysia instead. As of today the container has been picked up again, by the Mette Maersk! That's right - everything is now on the same ship.

So we've been tracking the wrong ship for the past two weeks! This happened last year too, but now it's definitely on its way we're confident that this won't affect our dispatch plan too much. We've never shipped this close to CNY and the communication from China really does go from excellent to almost zero. Crazy times! Instead of splitting the shipping, everything will arrive at our fulfilment centre at once - we reckon around the 18th of March - and we hope to begin the dispatch within a couple of days of that. To avoid any potential implications of Brexit we are going to prioritise EU backers and make sure the packages are well past customs by the end of the month.

The couriers we use are pretty quick, but if you live in one of the more distant countries like Australia your delivery might slip into early April. It's now nearing the end and we'll do everything we can to get Core Space into your hands as soon as possible. :)

Thanks again for bearing with us, and as always, happy gaming!

It's On Its Way!
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Feb 07, 2019 at 12:01:34 AM

Hey everyone!

It’s time to start counting down the days – Core Space is on its way! That’s right, production is finished and the games have left China. In case you want to follow it every step of the way, you can track the boat here:

https://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9632131

The boat is scheduled to arrive in the UK on March the 5th – slightly behind schedule, but we’re sure you’ll agree it’s worth it when you see what’s coming 😊. From there it will take up to a week to be unloaded and taken to our fulfilment centre, so we will begin shipping from the second week in March.

Our second container was unfortunately held up at the port and will be arriving around a week later. With this in mind we will ship all of the orders we can as soon as the first container arrives – this includes all boxed game pledges and a few of the add-ons. We should then be ready to move onto the remaining pledges as soon as the other container arrives.

We will post more updates to keep you posted on the shipping progress and any other questions nearer the time. Thanks for bearing with us.

Now it’s time for a sneak peek at what you’ll be getting…

Production Samples

The final production samples of the game have arrived, and we couldn’t be happier. We will be doing an unboxing video or two very soon to show you the game in all its glory, but in the meantime here are some teasers:

Facebook Group

With the game so close, we wanted a place where people could meet to chat about it – showing off their paint schemes, scenery builds, gameplay tips, and anything Core Space related. Luckily, some of our fans have set up the Core Space Universe group on Facebook. You can find it here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/349338038811268/

If you’re on Facebook, please join the group – we’re really looking forward to building a great online Core Space community. We will also use the group for semi-official announcements from time to time so it’s useful to keep up to date with the game too.

That’s it for now, we’ll be back with an even more exciting update next week...

Until then, happy gaming!

Production Update and January Sale
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Jan 08, 2019 at 01:31:00 AM

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a great festive season.

Just a quick update to let you know that production is going well. We had the last of the production miniatures in last week - the Annihilator and Gatherers, and they're looking excellent.

Aren't they cute!
Aren't they cute!

These guys will be making their debut in the Purge: Outbreak campaign. This won't be hitting retail until later in the year, but backers will be sent a digital copy of all the missions as part of their pledge.

Purge: Outbreak
Purge: Outbreak

Miniatures aside, we've seen and approved the samples of all the printed components and we've tested all the trays. All that's left to do now is make some final tweaks here and there, and get it all put into boxes and onto a boat! Chinese New Year is fast approaching, but our manufacturer is confident they can get it all over to us on schedule. We will post another update as soon as it's on a boat, at which point we will have a concrete delivery date for you.

January Sale

You may have seen that over on the Battle Systems site we are having our first ever sale! This is the perfect chance to pick up those things you've been meaning to buy for ages at an awesome discount. Our sci-fi terrain is all completely compatible with Core Space, so you could grab an Outlands bundle and set your games in a planetary desert outpost, or a Galactic set for some epic multi-level action.

There are also great deals on our Fantasy and Urban Apocalypse ranges.

With Core Space on its way very soon, it will be hitting retail shortly after we get all of the pledges shipped to backers. We have therefore made the retail edition of Core Space available for pre-order during the sale. If you know anyone who's kicking themselves for missing out on the Kickstarter, please send them over to our website for a great deal.

Of course, the deal isn't as good as the one that backers got, but that's the benefit of getting in early! :-) The website pre-order is for the retail version of the game, whereas your pledge comes with additional crews, Purge, NPCs, scenery, the deluxe rulebook, and more, lots of which won't hit retail for many months (like the Purge Outbreak expansion above).

Thanks again for your support with this Kickstarter. We can't wait to get your rewards to you so people can start playing.

Happy Gaming!
